Buying American usually means easier access to parts and technicians. If you own one of these and it needs work, we offer on-site repair across Southern California and remote diagnostics nationwide.

How to choose among them

The brands above split roughly into three groups. Premium machines — Epilog, Trotec, Universal — lead on precision, speed, software, and support, at the highest price. Mid-range brands like Boss Laser and Full Spectrum deliver strong capability and good support for noticeably less, which is where many small businesses land. Large-format and specialty makers — Kern for industrial-scale beds, AP Lazer for oversized and open-bottom work — exist for jobs the standard machines cannot handle.

The right pick is the one matched to your actual work: bed size, the materials and thicknesses you run, how many hours a week it will run, and the support you will want when something goes wrong.

What buying American gets you — and what it costs

An American-built or American-operated machine generally means easier access to spare parts, phone support in your time zone, and technicians who know the platform. It tends to hold resale value better, too. The trade-off is price: comparable imports cost less up front.

Whatever you buy, it will eventually need service — tubes age, optics need care, alignment drifts. We repair most of these brands on-site across Southern California and diagnose remotely nationwide. The one exception is Glowforge, which we do not service.

Common questions

Are American laser cutters better than imports?

They typically offer easier parts access, in-region support, and better resale — at a higher price. Imports can be excellent value. The best choice depends on your work and budget.

Which brand is best for a small business?

Mid-range brands like Boss Laser and Full Spectrum are common small-business picks — strong capability and support for less than premium machines. Match the bed size and power to your jobs.

Do you service these brands?

Yes — we service most major American CO₂ brands on-site across Southern California and remotely nationwide. Glowforge is the one exception we do not service.

Should I buy new or used?

A used machine can be great value, but have it inspected first — tube life, optics condition, and alignment all affect what you are really buying. We can advise.

What size machine do I need?

Size to your work: the largest part you will cut, the materials and thicknesses you run, and your weekly hours. Buying too small is a common and expensive mistake.
