No setup fees · No surprise charges · Itemized quotes

Pricing without the runaround.

We'll walk you through how pricing actually works — and what the same job costs at five different providers.

How pricing works

Three things determine what your project costs.

Driver 1

File complexity

More cuts and more detail = more laser time. Simple shapes (circles, rectangles) cost less. Intricate filigree designs take longer and cost more. Engraved area also adds time.

Driver 2

Material

Some materials cut faster than others. Acrylic and basswood cut quickly. Hardwoods like walnut take longer. Material cost is itemized, no hidden charges.

Driver 3

Quantity

Setup is the same whether you order 1 or 100. Larger runs share setup time, so per-part cost goes down with quantity.

Same job, five providers.

We sent identical files for one identical laser cutting job to five providers and recorded what each charged. No cherry-picking, no hypotheticals.

American Laser Cutter$56.70
Ponoko$74.61
Local competitor #1$125.00
SendCutSend$126.40
Local competitor #2$168.00

Our price breaks down as $46.20 cutting + $10.50 material — itemized, with no hidden charges. Most national fab shops mark up materials 3 to 4 times.

Need it faster?

Rush production available on most jobs. Speed depends on file complexity, material in stock, and current shop load.

Standard

3–5 business days

Default turnaround for most projects. No surcharge.

Rush

Next-day available

Most simple jobs can be done next-day. Surcharge varies by complexity — ask for a rush quote.

How to request rush: Mention your deadline in the quote form notes. We'll confirm what's possible and what the surcharge would be before you commit.

The other numbers

A few rules we apply to every project.

Project minimum

$65

The smallest job we'll quote. Below that, setup time exceeds the cut.

File fixing

$40/hr

Optional. If your file needs design help, we tell you what's needed before billing any time.

File check

Free

Every file gets reviewed before quoting. We'll flag problems before they cost you.

Payment methods

A real person prices every job. Here's how we think about it.

Cutting & engraving

Every job has a $65 project minimum. You get one clear per-project quote — based on the cutting, the material, and the quantity. No setup fees, no markup. We use industrial CO₂ lasers with beds up to 46 by 58 inches.

File fixing

$40/hr, optional. Common fixes: converting strokes to outlines, fixing scale, mapping operations to colors, removing hidden objects, stripping bitmaps. Only billed after you approve.

Repair & rental

On-site repair (SoCal): $150/hr + $1/mile. On-site nationwide: inquire. Remote diagnostics: $120/hr. DIY rental: $49/hr (100W) or $69/hr (120W+). Student discount with .edu email.

What is not charged.

Things national fab shops add that we do not.

No setup fees

Some shops charge a flat $25–75 setup fee per job. We do not. Setup is built into your quote.

No material markup

When you bring your own laser-safe material, we do not mark it up. National fab shops typically charge 3–4× their material cost.

No file-engine surcharge

A real human reviews every file. There is no automated quote engine adding hidden margin. The price you see is what you pay.

Business buyers

Bulk runs, repeat orders & vendor terms.

How recurring and bulk projects work for businesses, agencies, studios, and universities.

Sample → production

For runs over ~50 units, we cut a single sample first at standard pricing. Once approved, we lock the file and material spec. Repeat orders skip setup time — predictable cost and quality every batch.

Net 30 on request

For established business clients, we offer net-30 invoicing on approved credit. POs accepted. Card, check, Zelle, ACH, and Venmo also available. See vendor info →

NDA + COI on request

NDA signed before file review for prototypes, set design, aerospace, or unreleased branded work. Certificate of Insurance (COI) available — we can name your company as additional insured.

Now you know what it costs.

Send your file. We'll send back a real, itemized quote — no hidden charges, no surprise fees, same-day in most cases.
