Laser cutting for signage.
From a storefront sign to a lobby logo, laser cutting produces clean, custom signage in almost any shape — no mold, no minimum, no compromise on detail.
Laser cutting for signs
From a storefront sign to a desk nameplate, laser cutting produces signage with a precision and finish that printing alone cannot reach — clean cut edges, crisp engraved detail, and real material depth. Acrylic and wood are the workhorses, cut and engraved to whatever the brand calls for.
Edge-lit acrylic signs
One of the most striking things a laser does for signage is the edge-lit sign. Artwork is reverse-engraved into the back of a clear acrylic panel; an LED base lights the panel from the edge, and the light catches the frosted engraving so the design glows while the rest of the panel stays clear.
It is a premium look for reception areas, bars, retail, and events — and it starts as a vector file.
Dimensional letters and layered logos
Cut individual letters and logo shapes from acrylic or wood for dimensional signage that mounts flat or on standoffs for shadow and depth. Layered logos — two or three colors of acrylic stacked — give a finished, fabricated look without a fabrication budget.
Wayfinding, plaques and interior signage
For wayfinding, office, and door signage, the laser cuts panels to size and engraves room names, numbers, and directional arrows. Two-color engraving laminate — a laser-safe sheet with a contrasting core — is the classic material for crisp, durable name and door signs and awards.
Designing signage files
Send vector artwork (AI, DXF, or PDF) at 1:1 scale with all text converted to outlines so your fonts cut exactly as drawn. Tell us how the sign will be mounted — standoffs, flush, hanging, freestanding — so we can add holes or hardware allowances. For edge-lit work, design for the reverse-engrave from the start and we will guide the setup.
Common questions
What kinds of signs can you make?
Storefront and interior signs, edge-lit acrylic signs, dimensional letters, layered logos, wayfinding and door signage, plaques, nameplates, and awards — in acrylic, wood, and two-color laminate.
How does an edge-lit acrylic sign work?
Artwork is reverse-engraved into the back of a clear acrylic panel. An LED base lights the panel from the edge, and the light catches the frosted engraving so the design glows.
Can you cut dimensional letters?
Yes — individual letters and logo shapes cut from acrylic or wood, finished for flush or standoff mounting. Layered multi-color logos are also popular.
What file do you need for a sign?
Vector artwork — AI, DXF, or PDF — at 1:1 scale, with all text converted to outlines so the fonts cut exactly as drawn.
Can you account for how the sign mounts?
Yes — tell us whether it mounts on standoffs, flush, hanging, or freestanding, and we add the holes or hardware allowances to suit.
