Your file isn't quite right? We'll clean it up — convert text to outlines, fix wrong units, remove hidden objects, simplify too-thick strokes, separate operations by color. We tell you what's needed and the time estimate before billing.
When you need this
Most customer files have a small issue we can fix in minutes. Either way, the price is $40/hr — and we always quote the time before doing the work. You approve before we start.

Common file issues we fix
Text not converted to outlines
Text stays as text and the laser can't cut it. We convert to curves.
Thick stroke weights
Lines should be hairline (0.001"). Thick lines cut wider, affecting fit. We adjust.
Wrong units in export
DXF in inches but expected mm can come in at 25× scale. We rescale.
Hidden objects
Hidden geometry gets cut anyway. We find and delete what shouldn't be there.
Operations not color-separated
Cut, score, and engrave should each be a different color on one layer. We organize.
Raster instead of vector
Pixels can't be cut. We trace or recreate as vector if possible.

How will you charge me?
We review your file (free), quote the time estimate, and only bill if you approve. No surprise charges.
How long does file fixing usually take?
Most cleanup is fairly quick. We quote the estimate before billing.
Do you charge for file checking?
No. File check is free for every project. We only charge $40/hr if you ask us to fix or build something.
Can you trace a logo from a JPEG?
Sometimes — depends on the logo. Simple logos with clean edges can be vectorized. Complex photos can't. We'll let you know.
What software do you use?
Adobe Illustrator and CorelDRAW for design, AutoCAD/Fusion for technical work. Output is AI, DXF, or PDF (vector).
