Leather, cut clean and sealed
A CO₂ laser cuts leather with a clean, sealed edge — no fraying and no need to burnish — and engraves crisp logos and detail. We work with natural and vegetable-tanned leather only (veg-tanned preferred); not faux or vinyl-coated leather, which is not laser-safe.

Designing for laser-cut leather
We cut natural, vegetable-tanned leather only — up to about 1/8″ thick. Chrome-tanned leather releases toxic chromium fumes when lasered and is never run on our machines, and faux or ‘vegan’ leather is usually PVC- or polyurethane-coated and not laser-safe. If you are not sure how a hide was tanned, ask your supplier or send us a sample.
The laser cauterizes the edge as it cuts, so leather comes off sealed and burnished — no fraying, no hand-finishing. Send vector files at 1:1 scale; natural hides carry range marks and thin spots, so we nest pieces around the best areas. Cut and engrave happen in one pass, which is ideal for branded, personalized goods.
Common questions
How much does laser-cut leather cost?
Every job has a $65 minimum and a clear itemized quote, priced by material, cut time, and quantity, with no setup fees.
How thick of leather can you cut?
Up to about 1/8″. Thicker vegetable-tanned leather may be possible at slower speeds — send the details and we will confirm.
Can you cut faux or vegan leather?
No — most faux leather is PVC- or polyurethane-coated and not laser-safe. We cut real, vegetable-tanned hide only.
Can I bring my own hides?
Yes — bring your own vegetable-tanned leather and we do not mark it up. Just confirm the tanning method first.
Does the laser seal the edge?
Yes — the cut edge is lightly cauterized, so it resists fraying and stretching and takes a clean burnished finish.
